The bottom picture shows upside down roses...the calyxes were air drying. Pictures of the completed cake will be posted on Sunday. It brought me back to when I made miniature teddy bears (which I really need to get back to one of these days); a lot of detail work. I could spend hours doing this kind of stuff. For whatever reason it is relaxing. My success in creating her inspired me to get myself on the wait list for a $1200 10 day course in Chicago with Colette Peters (cake guru and expert fondant and gumpaste moulder). How I will afford this course and the expense of getting there is beyond me. I will wait until I am invited to attend!</div><br /><div>Back to the cake lady....</div><br /><div>So her creation was inspired by the 40th birthday of a friend. I figured every guy at some point dreams of having a girl jump out of a cake. Well this fella finally achieved the dream. Not I. But for the last two evenings, I have been diligently moulding away. And voila. She has been created. The perfect cake topper for a 40th birthday cake. For many men the dream of having a hot chick jump out of a cake on their birthday is a distant one. But, for the guy soon to receive this cake, the dream will come true.
